Deadly wrong-way crash on I-290 closes eastbound lanes: Illinois State Police
An incident occurred early Sunday morning on Interstate 290 in Cook County that tragically resulted in one fatality and several injuries due to a wrong-way crash at the I-290 eastbound and Wolf Road in Hillside. Illinois State Police promptly responded to the scene around 4:17 a.m., with all affected individuals being transported to nearby hospitals. Sadly, one individual succumbed to life-threatening injuries. Although the eastbound lanes were temporarily closed, they were re-opened by 10:30 a.m. The cause of the crash is under investigation by ISP, and specific details regarding the number of injured parties and their conditions remain unclear.
