Deadly two-car collision in Perry County
State police in Newport reported a fatal two-vehicle collision on Saturday night that took the lives of two individuals. The incident took place on State Route 34 near its junction with Landisburg Road in Carroll Township. The crash happened when a truck veered into the oncoming lane, resulting in a head-on collision with an SUV. Unfortunately, one individual from the SUV was pronounced dead at the crash site, while the truck driver, identified as William Richey Jr. from Shermans Dale, passed away at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. State Route 34 had to be shut down from Landisburg Road to Windy Hill Road for a period of four hours.
