Deadly single-car accident on Eastex Freeway injures driver and kills passenger, according to Houston police
Authorities in Houston are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash that occurred on Friday night on the Eastex Freeway. One person lost their life in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Green Street. The crash, which was reported to police around 10 p.m., involved a pickup truck that caught fire with the driver and a passenger inside. Although the driver sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital, sadly, the passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. Initial findings suggest that the truck may have skidded out of control and collided with the freeway's shoulder wall before igniting. The exact reason for the accident is still being investigated, and as of now, no individuals involved have been publicly identified.
