Deadly Oroville motorcycle crash leaves one dead, another critically injured

Two motorcyclists were in a serious crash in Oroville on Tuesday morning, resulting in one fatality and the other in critical condition. The California Highway Patrol received reports of the crash involving the two riders on Highway 162 near Mistletoe Lane. Emergency responders including CHP, Butte County Sheriff’s Office, Cal Fire personnel, and paramedics arrived at the scene to find the riders who had each been in separate crashes. The riders were traveling together at high speed when they lost control of their motorcycles, veered off the road, and crashed into a dirt embankment after being ejected. Despite wearing helmets, the speed at which they were traveling prevented them from regaining control. One rider died later at the hospital, while the other remains in critical but stable condition. The identities of the riders have not been disclosed. The CHP offers their condolences to the families and friends of those involved and invites anyone with information about the collision to contact the Oroville Area CHP.
