Deadly golf cart accident claims life of 52-year-old man in Port Aransas

A man from Houston, aged 52, passed away in a tragic golf cart incident in Port Aransas on March 15th. His body was discovered early on a Saturday morning by residents of a private community in the Port Aransas Marina. According to Lieutenant Mike Hannon of the Port Aransas Police Department, the man had likely been deceased for several hours when found. The investigation by the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office revealed that the man succumbed to a head injury sustained after colliding with a palm tree while riding the golf cart. The man, who was on a Spring Break vacation, was with family, however, his wife and some children had returned to Houston before the accident. The incident marked the first known fatal golf cart mishap in the area up to 2025. The tragedy has prompted heightened awareness and caution among residents and visitors in the vicinity, including the importance of safety measures like seat belts and attentiveness to surroundings.
