Deadly Crash on I-70 at Oak Grove Forces Road Closure: MSHP

Westbound Interstate 70 has reopened between Oak Grove and Grain Valley following a fatal accident, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The closure lasted for more than two hours, from approximately 5 p.m. to nearly 8 p.m. Initially, Oak Grove Police Department reported all lanes were shut down in the area, but at around 5:05 p.m., one eastbound lane reopened. The accident involved a car and a pickup truck colliding as the car changed lanes, resulting in the car spinning into the median and flipping. Unfortunately, the car's driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, while two other occupants sustained minor injuries. The crash is being investigated by troopers, and drivers are advised to use U.S. Highway 40 as an alternative route until Interstate 70 fully reopens. FOX4 will continue to provide updates on this developing situation.
