
Deadly crash in Walworth County; 2 killed, 1 injured on State Line Road
A tragic incident occurred on Friday night, Aug. 22, when a crash in Walworth County near the Wisconsin-Illinois border resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left another person with serious injuries. The Walworth County Sheriff's Office received a report of a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of US Highway 14 and State Line Road in the Town of Walworth just before midnight. Emergency responders found one vehicle engulfed in flames, which spread to a nearby house but was fortunately extinguished. Tragically, the driver and passenger in the vehicle that caught fire were pronounced dead at the scene by the Walworth County Medical Examiner's Office. The driver of the second vehicle suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the occupants of the house were unharmed. The initial investigation revealed that the crash occurred when a 20-year-old, Zachary Bryan, failed to stop at a stop sign while heading west on State Line Road, colliding with the northbound vehicle on US Highway 14. The investigation into the crash continues with support from the Walworth County District Attorney's Office.
