A tragic incident occurred in Pontiac, Michigan, where a man from Flat Rock lost his life and a woman was injured in a collision between an all-terrain vehicle and a GMC Terrain. The accident took place at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Melrose Avenue on Sunday afternoon, as per the report by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. The ATV, driven by 25-year-old Anthony Thomas Cowgill with a 31-year-old woman from Macon, Georgia as the passenger, was not meant for on-road use. The collision happened when the ATV, failing to stop at a stop sign, collided with the northbound GMC being driven by a 37-year-old woman from Pontiac. Fortunately, the GMC driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped unharmed. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard emphasized the importance of safety and proper equipment use following this tragic incident, which is currently being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
