Deadly crash causes major traffic delays in Northwest Indiana
Early Tuesday morning there was a fatal collision between a passenger vehicle and a semi truck carrying 40,000 pounds of frozen food on westbound Interstate 80 near Grant Street in northwest Indiana. Sadly, the driver of the car did not survive the crash. Fortunately, the truck driver emerged unharmed from the incident. The accident led to the closure of the westbound lanes of I-80/94 for several hours, causing substantial traffic congestion during the morning commute. Indiana State Police are urging any witnesses or individuals with dash camera footage of the crash to get in touch with the Lowell Post and speak with Trooper Hathaway as the investigation is ongoing.
