Deadly collision closes section of Route 99 on Friday night, victim named
A fatal accident occurred on Friday evening on Route 99 in Edinboro. A pedestrian was struck by a car near Harrison Drive before 6:30 PM. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, and the victim, identified as 79-year-old Loretta Dobos of Meadville, was taken to UPMC Hamot where she was pronounced dead by Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook just before 7:15 PM. State police closed Route 99 for investigation from Crane Road to near the Edinboro Cemetery for several hours. Additional details are not currently accessible.
