Deadly bus accident in Northern California leads to 6 fatalities.
A tragic head-on collision between a pickup truck and a public bus in Tehama County led to the loss of six lives, with one survivor. The incident occurred on Highway 99, just south of Gayle Road, resulting in a fiery crash when the Toyota Tacoma driver crossed the center divider into oncoming traffic. California Highway Patrol reported that the pickup crossed the yellow line for unknown reasons, colliding with the northbound bus carrying five passengers, causing it to burst into flames. Sadly, the driver of the pickup and five bus passengers, including the driver, were pronounced dead at the scene. One bus passenger survived and was airlifted to Enloe Medical Center with severe injuries. The accident shut down Highway 99 for several hours, reopening later that afternoon. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and have not disclosed the victims' identities. It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
