Deadly Brownsville accident kills school security guard

Authorities are currently investigating a tragic single-vehicle accident in Brownsville, Texas that resulted in the death of a man. The incident occurred when a 2004 black Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 27-year-old Ramiro Torres, and carrying a female passenger, was reportedly racing another vehicle on FM 3248. The Silverado lost control, struck a utility light pole, and unfortunately, Torres passed away from his injuries. The passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local medical center for treatment. Torres, who worked as a security officer at Manzano Middle School, was deeply respected within the school community. Brownsville ISD has expressed their condolences and requested privacy for Torres' family during this challenging time. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
