Deadly accident shuts down section of I-84 in Twin Falls as authorities probe incident
A 68-year-old man from Burley tragically lost his life in a collision on westbound I-84 near Twin Falls. The accident took place at milepost 175 around 9:30 a.m. involving a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 50-year-old from Twin Falls and a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The impact caused the pickup to veer off the road, roll over, and stop on the right shoulder. The pickup driver passed away at the crash site. The Jetta driver, not wearing a seatbelt, was flown to a nearby hospital; their current condition is unknown. The westbound lanes of I-84 were shut down for about three hours during the emergency response. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
