Deadly Accident on US-169 Takes Kansas Man's Life
A man from Kansas passed away in a crash that occurred on US Highway 169 between Chanute and Humboldt near 150th Street in Allen County on Tuesday evening. The incident happened when Morgan Wakefield, 29, was driving north in a 2011 Chevy Malibu and crossed the center line for unknown reasons, leading to a head-on collision with a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by a 52-year-old Stockton man. Sadly, Wakefield was pronounced dead at the scene, and the pickup driver was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita in serious condition. Additionally, three passengers in the pickup, ranging in age from 9 to 50 years old, were taken to a hospital in Chanute for minor injuries.
