Videos circulating on social media, verified by NBC News, captured the aftermath of the crash, showing the overturned yellow funicular car and the wreckage being searched through by individuals. This particular funicular, known as the Elevador de Gloria, serves the Baixa and Bairro Alto neighborhoods of Lisbon, according to the Lisbon Tourism Association. The city boasts two other operational funicular railways apart from the one involved in the tragic accident.
