Deadly accident involving pedestrian on Southern Blvd
A person was hit and killed by a car on Southern Boulevard in Florida as the driver attempted to switch lanes near the intersection of Kirk Road. The vehicle was traveling east and trying to merge into the right turn lane to head south onto Kirk Road. When the car was changing lanes, the pedestrian crossed from south to north, right into the vehicle's path. Although the driver tried to swerve to the left, they couldn't avoid hitting the pedestrian. The person was struck at the front passenger side of the car and thrown onto the hood. They hit their head on the bottom of the windshield and A-pillar before coming to a stop in the eastbound left turn lane. The driver later returned to the scene and called 911, though the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries from the accident.
