Deadly accident in southern suburbs closes I-57 southbound at I-80 early Sunday, per Illinois State Police
Due to a fatal multi-vehicle crash near Vollmer Road in Country Club Hills, the southbound lanes of I-57 have been shut down. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, with one individual tragically losing their life and another being hospitalized. Initial reports suggest that after the crash, a passenger in one of the vehicles was struck by a passing car after exiting their own.
