Deadly accident in Port Barre takes life of 25-year-old driver
A tragic accident resulted in the loss of Marissa Richard, 25, in Port Barre, as reported by Louisiana State Police Troopers. The incident took place on LA.190, close to Oakview Lane yesterday morning. Officials mentioned that Richard was driving a 2018 Dodge Journey in the right lane heading eastbound on LA.190, while a 2019 Freightliner was also traveling in the same direction. The Dodge reportedly collided with the rear of the Freightliner, leading to severe injuries for Richard and a juvenile passenger. Richard passed away at the scene, while the passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Freightliner was unharmed and voluntarily underwent a breath test for alcohol, with no traces detected. Investigations are ongoing, including toxicology analysis of Richard's samples.
