Deadly Accident in Knox County, Semi Flips in Field
A man from West Salem, Illinois tragically passed away in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 41 South near Schenk Drive in Knox County on Tuesday afternoon. The incident, involving a semi-truck carrying coal, occurred around 12:15. According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, the semi crossed the median and both northbound lanes before overturning in a cornfield. The driver, a 48-year-old man, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and authorities believe he may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
