Deadly accident in Gaines County results in one fatality and two injuries

In Gaines County, Texas, a tragic accident took place early Wednesday morning, resulting in one person's death and two injuries. The incident occurred when Daniel Gonzales Jr., 40, from Seminole, TX, failed to stop at a stop sign while driving westbound on County Road 212. His vehicle collided with one driven by Irving Alejandro Hernandez Presas, 31, from Pharr, TX, with passenger Cynthia Chavez Hernandez, 32, also from Pharr, TX, traveling northbound on County Road 219. Cynthia was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Patrick Kissick, while Irving sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock. Daniel was also seriously injured and transported to Seminole Hospital. The crash is currently under investigation, although road conditions were clear and all individuals involved had their seatbelts on.
