Dead and three injured in six-vehicle crash near Nixa

A tragic collision involving six vehicles resulted in the death of one person and serious injuries to three others on U.S. 160 near Nixa on Thursday night, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). The incident occurred when a northbound 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle veered into the opposite lane, colliding with a 2000 Pontiac Firebird traveling southbound at approximately 8:52 p.m. The chain reaction continued as another motorcycle struck the rear of the Harley-Davidson, causing it to skid off the road and hit a northbound 2014 Toyota Rav-4. Meanwhile, the Pontiac crossed the highway's center line and collided head-on with a northbound 2019 GMC Sierra. Debris from the crash also struck a sixth vehicle, a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling southbound on U.S. 160. Unfortunately, the driver of the Pontiac, a 47-year-old female from Highlandville, was declared deceased by the Christian County Sheriff's Office. The driver of the GMC Sierra and the two motorcyclists sustained serious injuries and were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Thankfully, no additional injuries were reported. This incident marks the 35th fatality in MSHP Troop D for the year 2025.
