Dangerous pursuit in Southern California results in car crashing into pole

A fatal collision occurred at the end of a police chase in the San Fernando Valley on Tuesday night, resulting in the driver's death and his car being wrapped around a utility pole. The pursuit began when officers spotted a stolen vehicle in Glendale. The driver, identified as 51-year-old Shawn Justin Towne of Los Angeles, refused to stop, leading to a chase that lasted about two minutes. The incident ended with the driver crashing into another vehicle before hitting a utility pole. Despite receiving medical attention, Towne was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. He was wanted on a warrant and was on active parole. Fortunately, there were no other injuries reported during the pursuit.
