Damage to businesses and driver in crash in Northeast Portland

A local gym in Northeast Portland suffered extensive damage early Sunday morning when a driver crashed into multiple businesses, including Whole Body Fitness, a personal training gym. The police responded to the crash at 3:45 a.m. near Northeast 14th Avenue and East Burnside, where they found a Chevy Cobalt had smashed into the gym. The driver had to be rescued from the car and taken to the hospital. The owner of Whole Body Fitness, Tiffany Felt, expressed shock and disbelief at the scene, describing herself as "numb." The gym was left in disarray with pieces of the car scattered throughout, including the trunk, muffler, and motor oil splattered on the walls and ceiling. Thankfully, nobody was working out at the gym at the time of the crash, sparing potential injuries. Felt now faces the challenge of rebuilding her beloved business. The driver, a 23-year-old man, survived the crash and has not been charged yet. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol and speed played a role in the incident.
