Cyclist seriously injured in Boulder hit-and-run crash, police searching for driver

DENVER (KDVR) -- Boulder police are crediting witness information and good investigative work in finding the driver of a pickup truck who left the scene of a crash that seriously injured a cyclist Wednesday morning. The crash happened around the intersection of 63rd Street and Spine Road, according to an 11:14 a.m. Boulder police X post. The crash involved a bicycle and a pickup truck. Police later said the cyclist — an adult male — was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. He was traveling east on Spine Road approaching 63rd Street and had a green light, police said. The truck, a white Ford F-150 with yellow construction lights on top, was driving north on 63rd Street approaching Spine Road when the driver hit the cyclist in the intersection, police said. The driver was arrested hours after the crash and identified as Dustin Kelsey, 46, of Parker. He is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury, careless driving causing injury, careless driving causing serious bodily injury to a vulnerable road user and running a red light.
