CSPD: Speed involved in deadly motorcycle vs. vehicle collision
A fatal collision between a motorcycle and a car occurred in the 2400 block of Bijou Street in Colorado Springs, resulting in the death of one person on June 20. The incident took place at the intersection of Platte Place. Emergency responders arrived at the scene near North Union Boulevard around 1 p.m. that day and found that the motorcycle rider, who was wearing a helmet, had died at the spot. The car driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Initial findings by the Major Crash Team revealed that the black motorcycle was traveling west on Bijou Street when it collided with a white Nissan sedan exiting southbound off Platte Place. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was speeding. The Colorado Springs Police Department is continuing its investigation into the matter.
