CSPD reports no serious injuries in Sunday multi-vehicle crash with police
An incident involving multiple vehicles, including a police car, caused a significant disruption at the intersection of Powers Boulevard and North Carefree Circle on Sunday afternoon. Colorado Springs Police Department reported that the accident occurred around 6 p.m. as an officer was responding to a call related to a firearm, with lights and sirens activated. The officer, traveling westbound on North Carefree Circle, successfully passed the northbound lanes but was struck by vehicles traveling southbound while attempting to cross Powers Boulevard. A total of seven vehicles were involved in the collision, resulting in minor injuries to the officer who was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. The intersection remained closed for a few hours as the CSPD Major Crash Team conducted an investigation into the incident.
