Crashes on Gene Snyder, I-71 caused significant delays during morning commute

Two crashes caused traffic delays Tuesday morning in eastern Louisville while other crashes are causing issues across the Metro.Watch the player above for the latest update on the traffic situation as of 9 a.m.One crash involving two vehicles was on Interstate 71 South at mile marker 6.0 in the area of U.S. Highway 42.The right shoulder was blocked, causing significant delays with traffic backed up to the Oldham County line. That crash was cleared, but another crash involving five vehicles on the I-71 South ramp to the Gene Snyder still had traffic backed up for at least an hour more. It has since been cleared.A crash on the Gene Snyder Freeway near the Smyrna Parkway exit jammed traffic in the westbound lanes for a couple of hours as well.The left shoulder and left lane were blocked there because of a crash involving two vehicles. That crash has since been cleared, and traffic is flowing smoothly now.
