
Crash on South Shore injures 13 with van and SUV
Thirteen individuals were wounded on Thursday in a collision involving a transport van and a sport utility vehicle in Hanover, Massachusetts. The accident occurred around 11:32 a.m. on Webster Street, prompting officials to close the area from Main to Walnut streets. The van flipped onto its side following the impact. Hanover police and fire officials noted that the van was overturned, and both vehicles suffered significant to moderate damage. Emergency responders from multiple towns attended to the incident, situated just outside the Village at Walnut Creek 55+ community. In the van were two Cardinal Cushing Centers staff members and seven participants in a day habilitation program, who were delivering Meals on Wheels when the crash occurred. The SUV contained two young children, their aunt, and uncle. South Shore Health reported treating all 13 patients from the scene for minor injuries. Local residents mentioned previous accidents at the intersection and called for the installation of a traffic light to prevent tragedies like this one. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
