
Crash on I-95 in Portsmouth sparks brush fire, traffic backups
A crash on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth sparked a brush fire Tuesday and caused significant backups.Officials said the crash happened around 1:45 p.m. near Exit 3 on I-95 South.Portsmouth Fire Chief William McQuillen said a car struck the median, igniting a fire that spread up a hill and into a nearby residential neighborhood. "Somehow, in the motor vehicle accident, there was a ignition source that caused the fire.
