Crash on I-95 in Fairfax County closes all southbound lanes
FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Traffic is backed up for more than three miles along Interstate 95 in Alexandria early Thursday morning following a crash. The collision happened in the southbound lanes near mile marker 173.5 in the Van Dorn area. As of Thursday morning, all southbound lanes were closed. First responders also blocked off the north shoulder and the north left lane to traffic. A traffic camera on the Virginia Department of Transportation map showed morning traffic at a standstill and first responders on the scene. The map also noted that traffic was backed up for about four miles. It is currently unknown how many vehicles were involved and if any injuries were reported.
