Crash on I-94 in St. Clair Shores under investigation after closing freeway for hours
A woman died early Wednesday after she was hit on I-94 in St. Clair Shores.Police said officers were called just after 1:10 a.m. on reports of a woman in the road near the Shady Lane pedestrian bridge, which is close to Nine Mile. When officers arrived, they found a woman dead on the westbound side of the freeway. Authorities believe the woman was hit by a driver who fled the scene. There was an SUV crashed on the embankment near the retaining wall. Police said that vehicle was not connected to the hit-and-run, but declined to comment further on the vehicle. Police did not publicly identify the victim, but said her family has been notified.Stay with FOX 2 for updates.
