Crash on I-495 snarls traffic in Fairfax County
FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Traffic was backed up for about two miles after a tractor-trailer crashed on the Capital Beltway in Fairfax County early Tuesday morning. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the crash occurred on Interstate 495 South near Braddock Road. Officials said the south right-center lane, right lane and right shoulder are closed. Traffic cameras showed morning commuters slowly inching through traffic near the crash site. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling in this area and allow extra time for their morning commute.
