Crash involving semi trucks closes Nevada interstate near Mesquite
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- An early morning crash involving semi trucks has closed a major Nevada interstate near Mesquite. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, shortly after 2:10 a.m., officers responded to a crash on the southbound I-15 near mile marker 107. Police said that the crash involved two semi-tractors with trailers. NHP said one semi crossed through the center median and hit another semi head-on. One of the drivers was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said that I-15 near mile marker 107 would be closed for around 5 to 6 hours for cleanup and tows. Travelers can get turned around at 1-15 and mile marker 112 to go back northbound into Mesquite, Nevada. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and avoid the area.
