Crash involving police car in Rutland

RUTLAND, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - State troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded Friday morning to a two-car crash involving a Rutland Town police car at the intersection of Cold River Road and U.S. Route 7. Shortly before noon on Friday, a 2017 Nissan driven by Barbara Carter, 86, of Clarendon, collided with a police vehicle driven by Officer Jared Dumas, according to Vermont State Police. Carter was reported to have had a green light but did not notice the police vehicle approaching at low speed with its emergency siren and lights activated. Carter sustained minor injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center. Dumas was uninjured in the crash.
