Court appearance by man accused in deadly Albuquerque DWI crash
In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a 24-year-old man appeared in court on Friday after being involved in a fatal drunk driving incident on New Year's Eve. According to Albuquerque police, Joshua Montoya was driving at a high speed when he collided with another car at the intersection of Wyoming Boulevard and Indian School Road. Tragically, the passenger in the other vehicle lost their life, while both Montoya and the other driver sustained minor injuries. Police reported that Montoya confessed to consuming alcohol before the accident. The state has requested pretrial detention in order to keep him in custody.
