Couple killed, woman seriously injured in Sanford crash, police say
A couple is dead following a crash in Sanford that left a woman seriously injured, according to police.Sanford police said the crash happened at about 8:56 a.m. Sunday in the area of 1811 Main St.Arthur Karcher, 86, and his wife, Catherine Karcher, 85, were traveling south on Main Street in a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu when the car drifted into the northbound lane and struck a 2019 Toyota Highlander that was being driven by a 32-year-old woman from Lyman, according to police.Police said all three people involved in the crash were transported to a hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries. Arthur and Catherine Karcher later died from the injuries they suffered in the crash.Weather and road conditions were not a factor in the crash, according to police.The crash remains under investigation.
