Couple from Alleman killed in Elkhart crash, authorities report
The Polk County Sheriff's Office shared the names of a husband, Shannon Patrick O'Connor, and wife, Tammy Jeanne O'Connor, from Alleman who tragically lost their lives in a crash near Elkhart. The incident occurred at the intersection of Northeast 29th Street and Northeast 142nd Avenue on Tuesday night. Both victims were thrown from their vehicle, and Shannon O'Connor was declared deceased at the scene, while Tammy O'Connor succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. An adult male driver in the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The PCSO is investigating the cause of the collision and has not provided further details at this time.
