County Police probing crash with injuries on U.S. 30 west of U.S. 31
At around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department was alerted to a single-vehicle accident with injuries on U.S. 30 just west of U.S. 31. Marshall County Deputies, along with Plymouth EMS and Fire, arrived at the crash site located in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 close to the Yellow River Bridge. Details gathered from witnesses and the occupants of the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu involved in the incident, revealed that the car unexpectedly swerved to the right and hit a guardrail. The driver, James P. Shockey, 23, from Ohio, claimed the mishap was due to a mechanical issue, citing the locking up of the front passenger side brakes. Both Shockey and his passenger, Darrell K. Howard, also from Ohio, were taken to Plymouth Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
