Country singer Conner Smith involved in fatal accident with pedestrian in crosswalk, police report
Country artist Conner Smith was in a car crash in Nashville, TN, on Sunday night resulting in the tragic death of a 77-year-old woman, according to police. The incident occurred on Third Avenue North when Smith's Chevrolet Silverado hit Dorothy Dobbins as she crossed the street at 7:30 p.m. CT. Dobbins, a local resident, was taken to the hospital but sadly passed away. Smith's lawyer has acknowledged the situation, expressing condolences to Dobbins' family and stating that Smith is fully cooperating with the investigation, though no charges have been brought forth. Initial reports suggest that Smith failed to give the right of way to the pedestrian, and authorities noted that he exhibited no signs of impairment. Smith, a native of Nashville signed to Big Machine Records’ Valory label, released his first album, "Smoky Mountains," last year.
