Coroner states rare balloon suffocation results in tragic death of 6-year-old.

A tragic incident occurred in Mount Carmel, Illinois last month where 6-year-old Gunner Hyatt passed away in what the Wabash County coroner has determined to be an accidental death involving a balloon. Initial findings suggest that Hyatt's death was likely caused by suffocation due to a Mylar-helium filled balloon. The coroner's office highlighted the potential dangers associated with large Mylar balloons, especially to young children. Hyatt, who had just completed Kindergarten, is dearly remembered by his family and community. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
