Coroner identifies victim of fatal I-385 crash
The dump truck driver who sadly lost his life in a collision on Interstate 385 in Greenville County, South Carolina has been identified by the coroner's office. The incident occurred late Sunday night near Exit 37, the Roper Mountain Road exit. Emergency services responded to a 911 call reporting the crash involving two vehicles, both traveling southbound, with one being a dump truck. The driver of the dump truck, identified as David Mather Whitehead Sr., 58, from High Point, North Carolina, was initially taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital in critical condition but tragically passed away around 1 a.m. Monday.
