Coroner identifies bicyclist killed in Long Point Road crash
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified the bicyclist killed after being struck by a semi-truck on Long Point Road Thursday. Mackensey Griffiths, 33, from Mount Pleasant, died at the Medical University of South Carolina from injuries sustained in the collision. Griffiths was struck around 12:18 p.m. at the intersection of Long Point Rd. and the I-526 eastbound off-ramp, officials said. The Mount Pleasant Police Department Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash.
