Cordova miner dies in machine accident at Warrior Met Coal
TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 24-year-old miner was killed in a machine accident Thursday evening. The Tuscaloosa Sheriff's Office said the miner was found unresponsive and injured around 6:00 p.m. at an active mine operated by Warrior Met Coal located on Hwy 69 in Berry. The miner, identified as Cordova native Justin Calloway, was transported to the surface, but did not survive the accident. Initial investigation suggests Calloway's death was the result of a machinery accident. The victim has been identified as Justin Calloway, of Cordova.
