Conviction of father for manslaughter in son's crash that caused 4 deaths
The father of a teenager involved in a tragic 2023 crash that took the lives of three children and their grandmother has been convicted of manslaughter. Prosecutors claimed that Richard Ferguson, aged 68, was at fault for permitting his teenage son to drive on that fatal night. The son, who was 15 years old at the time, disregarded a two-way stop at San Miguel Road and Laurel Avenue on September 3, 2023. Operating the vehicle without a permit, he collided with the family's car, resulting in the deaths of all four individuals. Ferguson was subsequently arrested and faced four charges of vehicular manslaughter, as per the arrest affidavit citing that he had allowed his son and his friends to use the car without proper supervision.
