Construction workers hurt in Lexington collision on New Circle Road

In Lexington, a part of New Circle Road had a brief closure this morning due to a three-vehicle accident involving construction workers. Fire crews responded to the crash around 10:40 a.m. on the outer loop of New Circle Road at Georgetown Road. At least four people were injured, including two construction workers and one driver who sustained life-threatening injuries and was entrapped. All of the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The right lane on the outer loop past Georgetown Road remained closed for some time, causing delays, but by 2:45 p.m., the roadway had reopened.
