'Consequences of actions': Teen faces adult charges for fatal crash in Macomb County chase
A 16-year-old from Detroit, who remains unnamed by authorities, will face adult charges in court on Thursday for his involvement in a fatal crash during a police pursuit in Macomb County. The incident occurred early Saturday, where Clinton Township police attempted to stop a stolen vehicle being driven with its lights off. The driver fled and was later pursued by Roseville police, leading to a collision that claimed the life of 28-year-old Alex Habib, a father of two who worked as an Uber driver. Prosecutors have chosen to treat the teenager as an adult due to the seriousness of the allegations, emphasizing accountability for the tragic consequences of his actions. Habib, remembered by those who knew him as a loving father and a source of positivity, will be dearly missed. The suspect is currently being held at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center and is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
