Conroe officer hit on the way to deadly I-45 crash in Montgomery County
A Conroe Police officer was hit by a vehicle while on the way to a fatal accident, as reported by officials. The police were originally responding to a deadly crash in the northbound lanes of the North Freeway near West Santa Fe Street. Officer J. Dugas was on a motorcycle following other emergency units to the scene. At the intersection with Interstate 45, Officer Dugas was struck by a Ford F-150, causing him to be thrown from his bike which then hit another vehicle. Despite the crash, Officer Dugas managed to call for help, and the drivers of the other vehicles present stayed and assisted him. Additional first responders arrived to aid Officer Dugas, who was then transported to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. Currently, there is no information available on the details of the initial crash.
