Connecticut firefighter dies in accident battling house fire.
A veteran firefighter from the Plainville Fire Department in Connecticut tragically lost his life when a part of a fire truck became dislodged and struck him at the scene of a house fire. Raymond Moreau, who had served for 35 years, suffered serious leg injuries and passed away during surgery at a hospital. He was described as a dedicated professional and servant by police and town officials, who also highlighted his commitment to the community and his service as a Marine. Governor Ned Lamont has ordered flags in the state to be flown at half-staff to honor Moreau until his burial. An investigation into the accident is ongoing, and a public ceremony is set to be held in Moreau's memory at Plainville High School. Residents and fellow firefighters have placed tributes outside the fire department to pay their respects.
