Confirmation of fatal plane crash by Madison County Sheriff's Department
A tragic plane crash occurred in Madison County on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the pilot's death. The crash involved a single-engine plane, according to the Madison County Coroner. The incident took place at 4261 N. CR 100W, north of Anderson, around 12:30 p.m. It was reported that the plane, en route from Rensselaer to Anderson, landed multiple times in a nearby field before hitting a tree and catching fire. Despite communication with the Anderson Airport Tower right before the crash, there were no signs of trouble, as indicated by officials. Both the FAA and NTSB have been alerted to the crash, and the area is now under investigation and secured for further examination.
