Concern arises after stock horse rider, Veronica Swales, experiences an accident.
Veronica Swales, a talented stock horse rider, was unfortunately involved in an accident during a competition on August 25. The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) took to Facebook on August 26 to ask for prayers for Veronica and her family after the incident at the NSHA Futurity in Las Vegas. The NRCHA community is supporting Veronica, her husband Clay, and their loved ones as she recovers. Following the accident, Veronica was taken to a trauma center where she was responsive. She is now in the ICU with broken bones and some bleeding, but no surgery is currently planned. NSHA provided an update confirming that her condition has not worsened and that she is being kept sedated to aid her recovery. The horse she was riding is also reported to be okay. A recent update from NSHA mentioned that Veronica has made progress, including making eye contact and giving a thumbs-up. Those close to her are monitoring her recovery, as she is known for her achievements as a professional rider in events like barrel racing, cutting, and working cow horse competitions.
